About Bay Area Young Life

Young Life Group

Young Life is a non-profit organization committed to making an impact on kids' lives and preparing them for the future. Young Life staff and leaders are caring adults who strive to build positive relationships with all teenagers everywhere.

Young Life is active in all 50 states and more than 45 foreign countries, reaching an estimated one million teenagers annually. Approximately 120,000 middle school and high school students are involved with Young Life on a weekly basis. More than 75,000 kids spend a weekend during the school year or a week in the summer at one of Young Life's 21 camping properties in the United States and Canada.

Bay Area Young Life operates in Kent and Queen Anne's Counties reaching youth at Kent Island High School, Queen Anne's County High School, Kent County High School, Stevensville Middle, and Centreville Middle Schools.

By building friendships with kids, Young Life leaders make a difference. They take the time to "earn the right to be heard" as Young Life's founder - Jim Rayburn began doing over 60 years ago. Their hope is that this friendships would develop into lifelong relationships. By building a bridge of sincere friendship Young Life leaders share the greatest news they have ever heard...The story about Jesus Christ. The news and truth about Jesus is the difference!

Bay Area Young Life is privileged to have an outstanding area director in Matt Windsor. Matt is a lifelong Queen Anne's County resident. He is a graduate of Queen Anne's County High School and Salisbury State University and is a former teacher in Queen Anne's County. Matt works with a staff and the Bay Area Young Life Committee to provide the various club meetings, campaigners meetings (bible study), fun events, and camp excursions that Bay Area Young Life offers.

Young Life areas are financially supported exclusively at the local level. All of the areas operating expenses, including the area director's salary, must be raised through support of donors and fundraisers such as this one, here locally.

In order to reach kids we must go where they go and enter their world. Every week in our local area, Young Life staff and volunteers can be found at school events and practices and at kids' favorite hangouts. In many cases, they are the only adult friends kids have in their lives. The work could not be done without your support. Thank you for all you do to help us reach generations of kids who desperately need to hear a message of hope.
